Dr Kavita Pannu graduated from National University of Ireland, Galway in 2005 with an honorary degree in Medicine. She relocated to Australia in 2011 and underwent nephrology and general medicine training in Monash Medical Centre, Clayton in Victoria. Whilst undergoing advance training, she rotated through several tertiary and rural hospitals in Victoria. She has also completed the clinical diploma in palliative care as her areas of interest include renal conservative care, diabetes kidney disease and glomerular disorders. Dr Pannu currently works in Peel Health Campus, Mandurah as a consultant nephrologist and general physician. She is also the Director of Physician Training and Medical Education at Peel Health and was the previous Head of Department in General Medicine prior to accepting the current role as Director of Physician Training. Dr Pannu in actively involved in various research projects and enjoys both the research and clinical aspect of her field. Dr Pannu describes herself as a thorough and diligent physician and is passionate in providing high level care which is evidence based. She believes good communication with primary care physicians and patients are essential part of delivering good clinical care.
